Pilot Hi-Tecpoint V5

Last Monday, I ordered 4 Pilot Hi-Tecpoint V5 Extra Fine pens (two black and two purple) from PenStore.nl. Today, I started carrying one of the purple pens.

Sale-lot number 41QSCI11279004 from GSA Auctions with the title "Personal journals" is Lot 4 from the Theodore John Kaczynski aka "The Unabomber" items that are being sold in the effort to pay off a 15 million dollar restitution order to the victims and their families. The online auction is to close today at 9.30 local time. This lot is described as: "One lot to consist of approximately 20 personal journals. These handwirtten notebooks describe in diary fashion Theodore Kaczynski's thoughts and feelings about himself, society and diving in the wilderness. They include admissions to specific unabom and other crimes." Ted Kaczynski tried to halt the sale of his personal papers and items. I think it will impossible to publish the contents of these personal journals, because I guess that Ted Kaczynski is still the copyright holder.

Update: The journals where sold for 40,676 dollar, which is the highest sum for all the lots in the auction.

Layered spagetti dish

Today, I again made a layered dish. The first layer (not visible) consisted of a pasta sauce made from 500g minced beef, two red onion, thinly sliced carrot and Heinz Traditional pasta sauce. The second layer consists of stir fried leek. The third layer consists of spaghetti. And finally a yellow sweet pepper chopped into chunks, which I have heated for three minutes in the microwave, sprinkled on top.

Double rainbow

Just when I was about ready to leave home, it started to rain. Luckily, it did not last long. When I noticed that the sun started shining, I ran to the otherside of the building and looked outside for a rainbow. And there it was. It was only a single rainbow. But soon it got brighter and became an (almost) complete double rainbow. The only reaseon for it not being complete is the fact that on the far right sight it is not clearly visible because of the strong backlight.

The second layer consists of cooked string beans. The third layer consists of spaghetti. And finally a yellow sweet pepper chopped into chunks, which I have heated for three minutes in the microwave, sprinkled on top.

Chronic stress causes brain disease

The University of Southern California reports that a mechanism has been uncovered by which chronic stress causes brain disease. (Journal article: Do RCAN1 proteins link chronic stress with neurodegeneration?.) It could well be the case that the chronic stress that Li-Xia experienced because off all the issues related to Andy is the reason why she developed Alzheimer's Disease.
