List of Promotions I attended
Below the (still incomplete) list of (academic) promotions I attended. In the
Netherlands, (like in other Germanic countries), a promotion refers to the
academic process and the official conferment ceremonty for a doctoral degree
during which the candidate has to defend his/her PhD thesis.
- Thursday, November 3, 1981 at 16:00: Peter Gragert defended the thesis
Symbolic Computation in Prologation Theory. (I was the only of his
students to attend.)
- Friday,October 23, 1987 at 16:00: Henk Alblas defended the thesis
Pass-Oriented Attribute Evaluation and Attributed Tree
Transformations.
- Thursday, December 14, 1995 at 15:00: Bert Vreman defended the thesis
Direct and Large-Eddy Simulation of the Compressible Turbulent Mixing
Layer.
